Are You Having A Hard Time Designing For A Baby Shower? It May Be Hard Locating Good Decorations
My sister and I planned a baby shower for 1 of our nieces. We decided to have it in the fellowship area of the community church because it was a large guest list. We had the baby shower on a Saturday afternoon. We did not want to get too intricate with the baby shower decorations because we needed to have the entire area cleaned out instantaneously after the party. We did want to have a few decorations for baby shower to give the room a celebratory air. There's a bassinet that's passed to each new mother for the baby to sleep in for the first four to six weeks. This cradle was my mother's. We decided that we would use the bassinet as the heart of our baby shower decorations.
The fellowship area has large round tables that seat ten individuals. We moved one table off on its own to be the presents table. We covered this table with a soft pink table cloth; our niece has learned she is having a girl. We set the bassinet in the middle of the table. We decided to use our presents for the baby shower decorations. I had purchased a pink and white baby blanket, which we hung over the side of the bassinet. We pinned several rattles and other infant toys to the blanket using diaper pins. We then displayed the little outfits that my sister had bought. We finished the baby shower decorations for the gift table by putting a large stuffed bear into the cradle. It's so much fun to decorating for a baby shower!
For the buffet table we had an arrangement of fresh cut flowers from the local florist. She used soft pink carnations, baby's breathe and daisies for the display. We decided that no other baby shower festive decorations needed to be placed on this table. We did have pink napkins that we set on this table, along with a cake that was festooned with a stork holding a small doll in a pink frosting blanket.
We had also ordered a corsage for our niece and 1 for each of the new grandmothers to be. We felt that the room looked very good and we wouldn't have to spend a good deal of time cleaning up baby shower decorations because they would all be sent home as gifts to our niece.
We had a big turn out for the shower. My niece received quite a few very nice gifts. She was glad that we had the baby shower in a space that was not cramped. As she progresses with the maternity she is feeling more claustrophobic. Within 30 moments after the shower was over the fellowship section was cleaned and we were on our way home.
